These are now commonly referred to as “shaped decks.” There are two techniques to rethread your axle rod on your skateboard truck. You can use either a grinder or a rethreader. Video Loading. 2. To do this trick, you’ll need backside kickturns dialed in. You should also be able to drop in of course, and I’d recommend knowing how to rock to fakie and/or rock and roll. An Axle Stall is one of the more basic skateboard stall tricks. It is done by rolling up the transition, kickturning 90 degrees, and locking in both trucks on the coping. You can dismount by turning another 90 degrees in the same direction and rolling back into the ramp.

Each skateboard wheel is mounted on its axle via two ball bearings. With few exceptions, the bearings are the industrial standard "608" size, with a bore of 8 mm (0.315 inches) (or 10 mm [0.394 inches] depending on the axle), an outer diameter of 22 mm (0.866 inches), and a width of 7 mm (0.276 inches).
You should also be able to drop in of course, and I’d recommend knowing how to rock to fakie and/or rock and roll. The axle stall helps you to balance yourself on the coping while performing other tricks and also in pumping on the transition after other tricks. Skateboarders use it to compose themselves before performing different lip tricks. An Axle stall is quite similar to the backside 50-50, minus the moving along the coping. The axle stall is a perfect place to start, as it will allow you to get used to balancing on the coping and also to pumping whilst coming out of tricks. Remember, this is called the axle ‘stall’ for a reason, you are meant to pause for a second or two as your trucks make contact with the coping.
